A Guest Poem by Felice Palacios
As you — hopefully — know, we're doing a series on using your creative gifts as a form of worship. We truly believe that the Lord speaks to each of us so uniquely, and has given us our own unique forms to speak to Him.
We are thrilled to introduce this guest poem from Felice Palacios. Felice uses her creativity by writing poems based off of her personal devotion time and was kind enough to share a few of her pieces with Kindred. We hope this piece inspires you as much as it inspired us!
Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. —Joshua 1:8-9
“But what if I’m scared?” says the child at night.
Her mother away, no father in sight.
“But what if I can’t?” says the girl in school.
The pressures are mounting, she’s branded a fool.
“But what if I fail?” says the one working hard.
Constantly trying to be held high in regard.
“But was it enough?” says the one at death’s door.
Her children all grown, her love gone before.
The answers you seek have been written for ages, the courage you lack found in unturned pages.
What have I told you each step of your life? Be strong and courageous, there’s no need for strife.
Do not be afraid, discouraged, dismayed. I’ll go where you go. My love leads the way.
